Remember, you're running on only a few hours of sleep, your baby is hungry all the time, you find it hard to even get thirty minutes to take a bath or wash your hair; emotions are overwhelming and everything is new. Don't beat yourself up just because you tried to make dinner and failed. That email can wait, that closet organization isn't important, you don't need to be a superhero. It once took me seven hours to peel and cut a carrot, k? Relax. You're doing a great job.
The Thought: I feel like a used dish rag. Seriously.
The Answer: Milk leaking from your breasts, baby puke on your achy shoulder, laundry hanging off your limbs – WE HEAR YA. I've preached this before, but I'll say it again: a bold lipstick will make you feel better. It sounds silly, but sometimes when you're floating around in leggings and milky shirts, you can begin to feel like a rag. Whether it's soaking in a bath, blow drying your hair or putting on lipstick, little things can go a long way in making you feel better.
The Thought: I'm eating, like, three times as much as my husband. Oink.
