Unless you're under a rock, you've probably read somewhere that fraud is really killing the online marketing industry. On a constant basis we are reminded that upwards of 50% of all advertising is all fraudulent, and most video ads aren't being by anyone except some kid in China being paid $.50 an hour to click on the videos. Even worse, bot traffic seems to be "sexy" now, with most companies refusing to do anything about it. The IAB has a solution: Stop Counting Impressions!

BREAKING: Lawsuit Against Rubicon Reveals Major Fraud in Programmatic Advertising
The Guardian is not happy: they say that Rubicon Project has been pocketing money for a while in extra fees when buying inventory from the Publisher. According to Digiday, this lawsuit is part of a larger attack by the Guardian paper into investigations into the growing problem of programmatic inventory buying, which often doesn't work as advertised nor pay out as advertised. This has revealed a huge problem of fraudulent pricing in programmic inventory buying which is killing the industry.
