Cowboy Mouth: Psychedelic Dinner Theatre Comes To Toronto

Cowboy Mouth: Psychedelic Dinner Theatre Comes To Toronto

This April, immerse yourself in a trippy spring experience. Frolick Theatre presents The Psychedelic Dinner Theatre, which features a communal bus ride from downtown, a meal, a pre-show lineup of talks/performances, Sam Shepard & Patti Smith's play, Cowboy Mouth, followed by a dance party.

The Psychedelic Dinner Theatre runs April 15 to 17 and is inspired by The Chelsea Hotel of the 1970s. The performances on Friday and Saturday will feature an immersive post-show live music happening where audience members are encouraged to put on a costume, rid the role of spectator and become part of the experience.

Cowboy Mouth is a surreal, one-act emotional somersault that explores a day in the life of an eccentric pair of mismatched lovers as they negotiate themes of art, love, identity and disaster, all within the confines of their squalid hotel room.

The event is raising funds for the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) Phase 3 trials of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Throughout the month of April, these dinners will be happening all over the world as part of a global movement intended to enhance public understanding of the risks and beneficial uses of psychedelics for science, healing, spirituality, creativity, and personal growth.
