Editor's note: This event is now sold out, but check the bottom of post to see how you can enter to win tickets. Girls' Night Out will premiere on CBC Television on February 25th at 9PM EST.

On Thursday, February 25th, Pioneering Women invites you to Girls' Night Out: An evening that raises questions about the culture of binge drinking that is prevalent among young women. Girls' Night Out is not the story of a depressed, angry drunk girl, but the ubiquitous story of girls at university campuses across North America.

Taking place at Scotiabank Theatre, the event will feature a live-stream of the CBC documentary Girls' Night Out, a provocative film directed by Phyllis Ellis, inspired by Ann Dowsett Johnston's book Drink: The Intimate Relationship Between Alcohol and Women. Before the screening, guests will be invited to engage in a town-hall style discussion featuring Phyllis, Ann, and Shedoesthecity's editor-in-chief, Jen McNeely – who is one of many subjects in the documentary who shares her personal struggles with binge drinking, alcoholism, and her story of recovery. The event will be moderated by Jelena Adzic, the face of arts and entertainment coverage on CBC News Network.

The first 100 guests to arrive will receive a complimentary copy of Ann Dowsett Johnston's powerful book, Drink.

Guest list is limited to theatre capacity. If you're interested in attending, you must register on the EventBrite page. This is a pay-what-you-can event, with a suggested donation of $15-20 at the theatre.

Thursday, February 25 @ 7:30pm / Scotiabank Theatre, Toronto (259 Richmond St. West.)
