Our Pick of the Week: Feast in the East

Our Pick of the Week: Feast in the East

Feast in the East – the monthly east end music, food, and installation series – is back this Saturday night at the Anchored Social Club (899 Queen St. E.) with an all-pink dinner to celebrate the month of love.

For their February edition, Zoe Solomon and Katie Jensen will be cooking up a pink feast (free with advanced tickets!) that includes a potato, cauliflower, beet soup and muff meringues. The night will also feature performances by Bile Sister (pounding electronics, industrial textures, and warped synthesizers), Dorothea Paas (70s Joni Mitchell-influenced outsider folk juxtaposed over early 90s sludge instrumentation), Eyeballs (groovy, danceable elements with blistering, warped synth tones), and Cupcake Ductape (Guelph-based post-riot grrl, stripped down punk duo) + environs by Kirsten Webb. Festivities kick off at 9 p.m.

$10 advance tickets can be purchased at Circus Books and Music, Cask Music, Soundscapes, and Rotate This; $12 at the door. All ages welcome!
