My Etsy Shop: Truvelle

wedding

Spring has finally sprung! Birds are chirping, iced bevvies are flowin’ and anxious brides everywhere are gearing up for their big day. This April, we’re profiling Etsy wedding sellers we love, so it only made sense to chat with Gaby Bayona, the super talented designer behind BC-based wedding dress shop, Truvelle.

SDTC: What do you make?

GB: I create wedding gowns for the refined, effortless, and modern bride. Handmade in Vancouver, all of my gowns are made-to-order with a heavy emphasis on design, fit, and quality.

GB: Truvelle was born out of my time at Ellebay Bridal Boutique, a custom dress shop in New Westminster owned by my mum and I. Though I loved creating gowns for individual clients, I was also very limited as I could create just a few gowns at a time with my own two hands. Realizing that the only way to grow was to break out of custom design, I left Ellebay and launched Truvelle in October of 2013. Since then, my business has grown from a girl in her living room to a six person operation residing within two Gastown studios. We’re now available in Vancouver through our Gastown showroom, online through Etsy, and internationally through nineteen boutiques.

GB: My most popular designs are Eden, Nicolet, and Natalie. Truvelle sells worldwide through retailers in Canada, Australia, South Africa, Germany, and the US, and online through Etsy. The majority of our Etsy orders come from the States! Our brides are diverse, with an appreciation for refinement, modernity, and living a rich life.

GB: I love how weddings join friends and families together to celebrate the union of two people. A day filled with such great vibes is impossible to forget.
